ATLANTA (March 16, 2004) – Network of Indian Professionals
(NetIP) Atlanta is strengthening its political arm in 2004
with a variety of activities to educate its members on the
election process and encourage them to vote in the March
primaries and November elections.
From inviting influential leaders to speak at a “Wine
and Politics” event to a fundamental “Politics
101” seminar in April, NetIP Atlanta is taking proactively
creative strides to ensure its membership is fully informed
in the 2004 election year. Other planned activities include
encouraging the organization’s database of 500 young
professionals to vote and setting up a voter registration
booth at the annual community-wide event, Festival of India,
in August.
“The 2004 election year is clearly an important year
for the political arm of this organization,” said
chair of professional development, Deven Shah. “We’re
planning a variety of educational activities to build and
increase awareness and knowledge of U.S. politics among
our members.”
Only two months into the year and the 2004 membership cycle,
NetIP Atlanta already has 220 members to date. The organization
ended 2003 with nearly 400 members.
