Community Engagement

Community Engagement is one of the founding principles of NetIP. As a socially responsible organization, NetIP believes in forging lasting partnerships within the community. Even with our diverse interests and backgrounds, our members share a philanthropic vision.
At NetIP Atlanta, we have supported our community partners by volunteering to build houses for Habitat for Humanity and run marathons in downtown Atlanta for Asha to help educate children in India. In 2008, our vision is to enhance opportunities for our members to engage in the community, both local and global. We are planning events with a diverse set of groups to broaden the horizon of our organization.
If there are any suggestions for future events, or if you just have comments, feel free to drop me a line. Remember, together we can make a difference.

Details: The GeorgiA CHild Identification Program (GACHIP) addresses the alarming fact that over 1,000,000 children are reported missing in the United States each year, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). On average, a child is reported missing every 43 seconds. At GACHIP events, the Masons provide the equipment, staff, and materials necessary to generate identifying items of your child in "completed packs" for you to take home for safe keeping. In the event your child is missing, you then provide the GACHIP pack to law enforcement as an aid in recovery and identification. GACHIP is a part of Masonic CHIP which is recognized by the NCMEC as one of the most comprehensive child ID services available and all the identifying items in the pack are provided at NO COST to the general public. Freemasons have long been committed to children and families through our scholarship program, children's learning centers, model student assistance program and sponsorship of youth groups. Georgia Freemasons have been conducting child identification programs for a number of years and we are proud to offer this expanded program called GACHIP. The previous program consisted of a single photo and fingerprinting. The new version adds a short video interview and a dental imprint called Toothprints. ALL of the identifying materials generated by the program are given to the childs family and the program retains none of the information. NAAAP-Atlanta seeks 5-8 volunteers for this community event in areas of registration, general information advisors, and facility directors. Please contact Minh Van at 678.362.4235 for further information or questions.
